Word That Comes Out From God’s Mouth

Matthew 4:4 “But Jesus told him, No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

This was spoken after the devil had tempted Him to turn the stones to bread. Jesus said “No! Man does not live by bread alone…” The bread referred to here was not ordinary bread.
Jesus was referring to the manna that appeared every morning supernaturally and was the food that sustained the Israelites when they were in the wilderness for 40 years. It was referred to as the food of angels because it was given by God directly and it was enough to sustain a healthy life. As miraculous as that was, Jesus said, it’s not enough for man to eat that kind of bread and have a life that’s full and vigorous and enjoyable…
Life has so many stresses; and stress can come from anywhere. We can even eat healthy organic food everyday, breathe fresh air, live in the mountains and still be subject to stress.
Life does not come from what we eat or where we live or have all the money for anything and everything. Life comes from the Word of God. The Book of John said, the Word was God… And in another verse He said, I am the Bread of Life. Jesus was referring to Himself… True life can only be found in Him!

If you want a life that has meaning, a life that is abundant and joyful and peaceful and vigorous and loving and healthy, and lived in freedom, you can ONLY find it in Jesus! Let Him be your Savior and your Lord by inviting Him to be involved in your day, in your decisions, in your relationships and in your work. Let Him be the Source of your life. Talk to Him and listen to Him. He’s just a whisper away.
