Genesis 3:8-11 “When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden . So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” “Who told you that you were naked?”
The verse starts by saying Adam and Eve heard God. In the original Hebrew, it said that God was talking. The voice of the Lord always speaks. He speaks words of blessing. He tells us who we are… But the devil, jealous of the special place man has in God’s heart, also spoke. He wanted to destroy man’s relationship with God, so he spoke lies in his desire to remove the glory man wore. So when God called out, where are you? Adam spoke another language God never spoke to him before and hid because he listened to another voice. So God set in motion a plan to restore man back to a right relationship with Him. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die in our place as a sacrifice for our sins. And He continues to speak…
Whose voice are you listening to?
The voice of God says, you are My beloved. You are forgiven. You now live in My kingdom and are part of My family. You are complete in Me. Nothing is impossible for you! You can come before me with your requests boldly. You are an overcomer! You are free from the power of sin!
These are the words your Abba speak to you.
