Exodus 14:13 “But Moses told the people, ‘Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.'”
The Israelites had just left Egypt, the place where they were kept in bondage and slavery. But God, after a series of miraculous events, delivered them, and now they were about to make the journey toward the Land of Promise.
Egypt is a picture of where we came from, when sin was our slave master. But God stepped in and saved us. Now sin still wants to make you think you haven’t been delivered. So God said, “I’m going to do a work so that you will know once and for all, that you have been delivered. I will deal with them. Just watch.”
Our deliverance is God’s work. There isn’t anything we can do to save ourselves or to get us out of whatever holds us back. All He asks is that we keep our eyes on Him and stay believing in His power and goodness and faithfulness so that fear won’t get in. And as we go through the process of sanctification, we remember that it is His grace at work. This is our walk toward our Promised Land, the place toward our fulfilled destiny.
