Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
The poor in spirit are those who have realized that on their own they have nothing. They see that they are as poor as a beggar in their souls, and therefore realize that they have to depend on God every single day for everything. For example: he doesn’t try to be strong, he relies on God for strength.
A person who sees themselves in that way stays humble. A humble person isn’t one who berates himself, but one who sees God as his source and identity. He knows where his success and abilities come from. His existence is so tied up with God that what he wants is to express the kingdom of heaven on this earth. The kingdom of heaven is any place God’s will is enforced. And that kingdom first resides in you when Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
When you see yourself the way God sees you, there is no limit to what God can do through you.
“Abba, I live relying on Your grace and mercy every single day of my life. Use me for Your glory. Let Your will be my focus in all things. Let Your kingdom dominate everywhere I go. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
