2 Peter 1:2 “May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.”
Knowing God does something to us: we grow in grace and peace. If you want the peace and grace of God to increase in your life, you must know God more. Spend time in His word, meditate on it (that means when a verse touches you, say it to yourself over and over), play worship music and bask in His Presence letting His love fill you. You can’t rush through your day and expect things to just fall into place if you haven’t taken the time to listen to God. It’s time well spent. He fills you with His peace. He gives you wisdom. He guides you through your day. He gives warnings. He heals you in your body and in your soul. He rejuvenates you. He gives you joy. He brings understanding… What comes to you are priceless treasures. The benefits are numerous!
The grace of God is His undeserved favor. The more you see how He pours His favor on you, the more changed you become. His peace which is beyond understanding overwhelms you, overflows from within you. Some changes may happen slowly, some quickly. And one day you can look back on your life and see how far you’ve come. You’re healed and whole and filled with peace and joy… All because you’ve spent time getting to know Him.
If you want that to happen but spending time is a struggle, just ask Him – Lord, I want to spend time with You. Give me the desire. Make me hungry for You. I want to know You. I want Your grace and peace to increase in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
