John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
When a person gets close to dying, he starts talking about things that are important. Here, Jesus knew His time was approaching and He was saying what He was going to leave behind: His peace. Peace is the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ. He was saying, I don’t want to leave you with anxiety, with an agitated, troubled soul. I am deploying to you My peace which you cannot find in the world.
Are you facing any situation that is agitating, troubling, distressing, leaving you with fear or dread? Jesus said, I give you My peace. Close your eyes and say, “Jesus, I receive Your peace”. Now, let His peace settle in your soul. And throughout the day, just keep telling yourself, “Jesus, You gave me Your peace. This problem is Yours. You are working out this situation. You are my Savior. I am confident You are turning it for my good. Amen.”
