Psalm 39:4-5 “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered – how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to You; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
As we reach the end of another year, we reflect on how we have lived this year. How much have we grown? Have we grown kinder, wiser? Have we grown in intimacy with God? Are we more careful with the words we speak? Are we more compassionate and understanding?
Our life is fleeting. It is but a breath. If we find out that our life will end by the end of the year, how will we live the last few days? Is there anyone we need to make our life right with? Is there anyone we need to say how much we love and appreciate for all they’ve done for us? Let’s end the year right and start the new year with a clean slate. The new year could be the beginning of the next chapter of our lives.
