Colossians 3:13 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”
Let the tranquility of soul that comes from the Spirit of God act as the umpire of your soul. The umpire is the referee in a game. He decides what’s in and what’s out, what is counted and what is not. That’s how God’s peace rules in our lives… That peace decides if a place is the right place to go to, or who to do business with, who to employ, if a certain kind of business is the right one for you, who to be friends with, if a house is the right one to buy, etc… That is one way we let God get involved in our daily living. We stay in touch with that peace that is in us.
Keeping a grateful heart is another way of staying connected to His peace. When our hearts are filled with gratefulness, it is an indication that our minds are focused on what’s good and what’s right.
It helps us keep our focus on God and what His perspective is on our lives. When our perspective is right, we see situations clearly. When our vision is clear, it’s easy to make the right decisions… All these things start from letting His peace rule in our hearts. When His peace rules, we live with the confidence that no matter what we face, we will overcome challenges, all things will work out for our good, and we can rest knowing that God is in control of the details of our lives.
