Luke 6:43-45 “A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce bad fruit. A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.”
Every so often it’s always a good idea to take inventory of your life to check if you are progressing or not.
The issues of your life are a manifestation of what things are in your heart. Look at the issues you face. Are they the same issues year after year? Look at the relationships you have. Are you improving in the way you relate to those around you? Listen to the words you speak. Are they words that build up or tear down? What kind of conversation do you have with yourself? How do people around you react to you? Are you more caring? What kind of people do you attract to yourself? What kind of friends do you have?
It’s not always easy to see yourself the way you really are. Sometimes you can be hard on yourself, sometimes it’s sugar coated. In all the checking, it’s important to remember that God loves you the way you are, but He also loves you too much to not leave you the way you are.
“Father, I thank You that You loved me enough to send Your Son to save me. Thank You for Your grace at work in my life changing me so that I can reflect Jesus, no matter how I may be now. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit Who is changing me from the inside. Let my life bring You glory because I belong to You. Help me to know what’s important to you so that my days count. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
