Romans 8:6 “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”
Many times in the different situations we face, we let our natural mind figure out ways to get out of our predicament. We try to think of who can help us, or where can we borrow money from, what medicine can I take, what lie can I say to get out of this mess… These are thoughts from the old self, or the mind of the sinful nature. This is the way a man thinks when he doesn’t know God. But the mind controlled by the Spirit is a mind that lets God get involved. He asks God to show him the way out, to show him what course of action to take, what words to speak, he asks for divine connections.
And you have to be prepared for some answers that won’t make sense because there is no limit to how God will answer you. Like when Jesus’ disciples asked for money to pay their tax, He said go to the sea and the first fish you catch will have money in its mouth. Or the blind man who wanted to see, Jesus made mud out of dirt and saliva and put it on the man’s eyes. Or the Israelites in the wilderness were thirsty but the only water available was bitter, and Moses threw a log into the water and it became sweet. Or when they got bitten by poisonous snakes, Moses was told to lift a bronze snake on a pole and anyone who looked at it got healed. God’s ways don’t always make sense but they ALWAYS make a way out for you. Ask Him and EXPECT to get an answer.
“Abba, show me what I must do to get to where your answer is for me in this situation. In Jesus mighty Name. Amen!”
