Psalm 32:1-2 “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!”
Everyday we live our lives, doing what we know to do; some in routine, some one day different from the next. Yet no one, no matter how hard one tries, can live in perfect obedience. Mistakes made, wrongs done, sins committed. And so when we face a holy God, what right do we have as frail humans? On our own, nothing, except to be declared “guilty”! And He knew that. So He made provision for us to be in right standing with Him, for our guilt to be washed away, not just covered. He sent His beloved Son to live a perfect life so He could stand in our behalf and be a perfect sacrifice. His blood cleared us of all judgment and declared us “not guilty”!
When you accept Him as your Savior, the One Who pulled you out of the muddy pit of sin so that you could have the hope of living a life right with God, then you can stand before the judgment seat of God and be declared “innocent”.
To be freed of all the weight of that guilt is a joy! To know that you can come before Him at any time when you have a need, and know that He will listen to your request, is so assuring. He made a way for you so you can experience the benefits of being His child. Not all are given that opportunity. Call on Him and ask Him for help.
“Save me Jesus, wash away all the guilt so my life can be right with You. In my weakness, help me. I give You my life. Amen.”
