Psalm 94:16,17 “Who will protect me from the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Unless the Lord had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave.”
In this world, where there are so many wicked people, not all are the obvious terrorists or murderers or robbers, some of them are the ones who bully or abuse those they can take advantage of, people who continually hurt and disrespect … What does one do if one is the target of such wickedness? It says that the Lord is the One Who helps them, He is the One Who avenges. When you are aware that you are not alone, that you have a Father Who watches over you, that nothing escapes Him, although it may not happen the way you want it to, He will avenge, He will not forsake you. He knows the best way to take care of the situation. He will not allow you to be continually silenced or shamed or disgraced. The important thing is to allow God to do His work in you, to surrender the hurt and anger to Him and just trust Him.
“Abba, it’s never easy to deal with such people, and the greatest temptation is to want to get back. You know what they’ve done and how I’ve suffered. But I surrender it all to You. You know how to handle this best. Help me get through this. Let me become a better person because of this. I trust You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
