Romans 7:19,24,25 “I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway… Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…”
We have all found ourselves in this struggle because we have been taught what is right and wrong. And when we do what is wrong, we struggle with self condemnation. And so the author writes, what hope do I have to deal with this struggle and get out of this mess? He answers it and says, “The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.” When you find yourself struggling to do what is right, the answer is not to try to do it on your own strength. Ask Him for the power to do it in His strength.
“This is what I am struggling with Lord _____. Help me do what is right by Your power. You are my God. You are my Hope. You are my victory. I am not left to deal with this struggle alone because You are with me. And because I know You are with me, I have the power to overcome through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen!”
