Hebrews 2:16-18 “We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; He came to help the descendants of Abraham. Therefore, it was necessary for Him to be made in every respect like us, His brothers and sisters, so that He could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then He could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. Since He Himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested.”
When a VIP goes all out to help you when you are in trouble, doesn’t it make you feel important? What a wonderful thought it is that God went all out just so that He could help us! He did not hold anything back!
In the Old Testament times, the High Priest had to live a life that was holy because he was the one who stood before God on behalf of the people and asked for forgiveness and for blessings to be released. That’s what Jesus is to us before the Father. And the offerings He gave were perfect in every way and for all eternity! So we have the chance of living a life that is forgiven and blessed!
Not only that, since He came as man, He knows and understands the struggles we go through. So when you ask Him for help, He understands the struggle and answers with compassion.
“Abba, who am I that You would go to all the trouble to save me to set me free? I have failed You so many times but You’re always there, still showing me that You love me. You haven’t given up on me. I want my life to reflect You. By Your grace and power, change me and show me who I am in You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
