The Blessing

Proverbs 10:22 “The Blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”

The Blessing is an empowerment from God for prosperity. In the Bible, to prosper is to be rich not only in finances, but also in health, in good relationships, in your mind, in your soul. When the Lord is the One Who prospers you, He prepares you for it because He doesn’t want the wealth to destroy you. So He prepares your heart for it. You face trials and challenges so the dross in your heart get removed. Purpose gets established in your soul. Messes get dealt with. Slowly but surely things are put into place. When it is the Lord Who makes you rich, your life goes well. You don’t have to be afraid of kidnappers, or people backstabbing you because you conduct your affairs with His wisdom. If you’re married, you are fulfilled in your marriage with no fear of your spouse leaving you for someone else. Your children are well behaved and with good character because you raised them properly. Your employees do their work properly because you treat them righteously. Colleagues speak well of you because your words are gracious and you conduct yourself righteously. You are in good health because the stresses of life are managed with wisdom. Whatever area in your life you look at, peace is there. Sounds too good to be true? It is very good! And it is true! When God does a work, He makes it complete. When the Lord blesses, there is NO sorrow attached to it!
“Abba, only You are capable of doing such a work in my life. Give me a love for wisdom and for Your Word that I may always choose to do things Your way. Let me be sensitive to Your guidance so I avoid pitfalls and so that I live my life right. By Your power and grace at work in me, I can do what seems to be impossible because there is nothing impossible for You. Let my life glorify You in every way. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.”
