Acts 17:28 “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being…”
Everything about the Christian life is key to that phrase – “In Him”. It is a preposition that denotes a fixed place; it tells us where we are to be found.
True life is discovered when we live IN HIM. That is where we discover our purpose and have that sense of fulfillment. When I live my life conscious that I am in Him, I am aware that I’m never alone, I’m never without Him, and that my identification is not separate from Him. My actions are an outflow from that realization so I act and speak with kindness and compassion. There is a sense of purpose to what I do. I realize that my very existence is dependent on His power and grace so I live without a sense of fear, not having to wonder what tomorrow may bring because I know my days are in His hands. And even if I may find myself in the valley of the shadow of death, I know it happened for a divine reason and I will come out on the other side a changed man: stronger, wiser, with more understanding and with a better grasp of life’s meaning.
“Abba, You are the Author of Life. You are the One Who understands all things and knows all things, and it gives me comfort to realize that You are the One Who holds me in the palm of Your hand. You prepare me for what lies ahead and You give my life meaning. It is in You that I find my peace and contentment and direction. Thank You for choosing me to be Your child. Use my life for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
