The Lord’s Blessing

Numbers 6:22-26 And the Lord spoke to Moses saying: “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.’ “
Have you ever wondered: if there is none higher than the Lord, how can He lift His face up to anyone? The answer: when He lifts you up! Like a child who is lifted up by his daddy in his arms because he is full of love and affection, he lifts his baby high then fills his baby’s face with kisses – that is how Abba lifts you up: to enjoy who you are, filling you with His love and affection.
And when the Lord gives you His peace, He makes your life complete. He fills in the gaps, He makes you whole, He prospers you in your soul with a sound mind, in your body with good health, in your relationships with your family and good godly friends, in your place of work or school, in every area with abundance!
These is how the Lord wants to bless you! So that when people look at you, they will be in awe of how awesome your Abba is and will want to be in relationship with Him too!
He wanted the priests to bless His people with this blessing EVERY time they gathered together to continually remind them of what He has done and wants to continually do for them. It was so important to God that He didn’t allow any priest who was sad to speak this blessing. They had to be happy! He wants His children to feel His affection and goodness so that no one will feel any condemnation.
“Abba, how can I not be overwhelmed with gladness when I realize all that You have done for me! You constantly think of my welfare wanting only what’s best for me. Oh that Your love become more real to me each day so that I become grounded in it. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness and greatness, in Jesus’ Name I pray, amen!”
