Without Shedding of Blood, There’s No Forgiveness

Hebrews 9:20,22 “Then he said, ‘This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you…. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.”

In a blood covenant, the 2 parties entering into it meant the agreements made were something to be taken very seriously. Someone who broke the terms of the covenant had to be killed. When God entered into a blood covenant with man, He knew there was no way we could hold up our end of the deal, so the Father let Jesus stand in our behalf. So Jesus shed His blood to confirm the covenant. That Blood declared that now, there is forgiveness available for man. Now, man can come before God and ask for forgiveness and be restored back to fellowship and right standing with Him again. Our consciences can be free from guilt and condemnation, washed clean by the Blood of Jesus!

“Abba, thank You that You made a way for me to be restored back to You. Thank You that You gave me a new identity in Christ, because I do not stand on my own anymore. Thank You for the blood that was shed so all my guilt is washed away. All because of Jesus, Who loves me and gave Himself up as a sacrifice for me. Amen.”
