Philippians 3:10,11 “That I may know Him and the power of His Resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
The apostle Paul had been talking about being willing to give up everything just to be able to know Jesus so intimately, so closely, the way He would feel and think about different people and situations; to know the resurrection power and its ability to cleanse and heal the soul so that moral integrity is what results… so that out of knowing all that, he may reflect the likeness of Jesus: His humility and self- control, His confidence and assurance of His Father’s love and favor, making a difference wherever He went. Because he wanted a life that was different.
The resurrection power is the only power that could transform lives. It could heal all diseases as well as emotional and psychological wounds that can leave more damage than any physical handicap. That is the power the apostle Paul wanted. And that power is available for us, those who believe and follow Jesus Christ.
“I want to know You Jesus. I want to know Your thoughts and Your heart. I want to know how much You suffered for me that I may understand a lot more the love You have for me. Let Your blood wash me clean, wash all the wounds in my soul, transform me by Your resurrection power that You made available for me, the power that brings lasting change to my life. I receive this by faith in Your Name, amen.”
