2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”
Fear paralyzes people. Some fears cause people to stay locked in a room because of fear that bad things will happen when they go out, like getting robbed or kidnapped or killed, etc. Some paranoias also cause people to get sick or to hoard. Some fears cause people to get abused. But all the time, fears cause people to not think straight; and when one doesn’t think straight, one behaves in foolish ways. But the Bible says that fear doesn’t come from God.
The Spirit of God empowers, makes you bold rather than cower in timidity. The Spirit of God also gives confidence that you are loved not rejected. And the Spirit of God gives you the ability to think properly, have sound judgment, not presumptuous or suspicious, not quick to think negative toward others but willing to give the benefit of the doubt.
When you are free from fear, people cannot control you or “push the wrong buttons”, your emotions are under control and you make sound decisions. You can look at situations objectively and from different perspectives, not only your own. This is part of our inheritance as God’s children: power, love a sound mind, and free from fear!
“Thank You Abba, that I can live free from fear. You have empowered me with Your love. Your Spirit gives me the ability to make sound decisions when I stay connected to You. With all the fears that surround the world nowadays, I can live differently, because You are my Refuge, my Strength, my Abba. Amen!”
