Rejoice When You Fall Into Trials

James 1:2,3 “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows it’s true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”

Often, when we find ourselves in a challenge or trial, our natural tendency is to find a way to get out of it as quickly as possible. Yet the Scriptures say not to get out of it prematurely. The trial exposes to you exactly where you are in your faith walk. Your response to it will show you just how real God is to you, how spiritually developed you may be, how firmly or loosely grounded you are in the grace and love of God, if His Word is real to you or just words you mouth, etc. And while it does all that, the Holy Spirit is busy developing your inner man to maturity. Whatever stage you may find yourself in, it’s not a time to judge yourself harshly when you see lack, but hold onto Him more tightly and focus on His goodness – that He hasn’t given up on you, and He’s creating you to be His masterpiece. Remind yourself that He loves you dearly and unconditionally, and He is committed to you and your good. Whatever condition your walk may be at, He is not giving up on you. You are Precious to Him. You are His inheritance!
“By Your grace and power at work in me, Abba, help me endure. Keep me steadfast. Let patience have its perfect work. Open my eyes to see what needs to be seen. Give me the wisdom to know what I need to learn. Thank You that You will never leave me alone. You are preparing me to become a beautiful bride for Your Son, without spot, without blemish. I am Yours for all eternity, in Jesus most precious Name, amen!”
