Romans 4:6-8 “David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it: ‘Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.'”
Isn’t it frustrating when you’re constantly trying to please someone and it never works out? Constantly working for their approval and then always coming up short? That’s how it is for those who are trying to earn their salvation; perennially trying to make the 100% mark and never making it. Yet, God knew we never would be able to reach it, He knew we would fail no matter how hard we tried. So He sent His Son Jesus to stand in our place. He was sent to be our Substitute. It’s like you were supposed to take an exam you weren’t ready for, and then the teacher allows the honor student to take it for you!
Or you were brought to court because you owed a huge sum of money that you couldn’t pay, no matter if you worked your whole lifetime… and then a billionaire philanthropist hears your story, steps in and says, “I’ll pay the debt in full”. So the judge writes on your file – Acquitted. Paid in full! That’s what it’s like for a man saved by Grace to stand before God. The Righteous Judge looks at The Book of your life, sees the Blood of Jesus on it with the words: Acquitted. Not guilty!
Your disobedience has been forgiven. The Blood has been applied on your sins and washed clean. You no longer have to suffer condemnation. You no longer have to suffer a cursed life. Jesus has made provision for you to live the life of an overcomer- He made you seat with Him in the heavenly places and He gave you the power of the Holy Spirit to reside in you. It’s time to jump for joy and celebrate the victory He won for you!
“Thank You Abba for loving me so much that You went through all the trouble of securing my salvation! Because of what Jesus did for me I can stand before you boldly as one righteous because of The Blood that was shed for me! Now I can enjoy fellowship with You, make my requests known to You because I know You will listen to me! I am Yours, be glorified in my life, Jesus, amen!”
