Your Name Is Written At The Palms of His Hands

Isaiah 49:15-16 “Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands…”

Though we’ve heard stories of some mothers abandoning their babies, it’s quite unusual, either she is mentally or emotionally unbalanced or because she’s facing dire conditions. It’s almost impossible for a nursing mother to forget her baby. It’s very natural to be so attached to the little bundle of love in her arms that it almost breaks her heart if she has to leave him because she has to go to work. That’s how our heavenly Daddy compares His love for you. He is crazy in love, heart-full-of-affection for you! You are always on His mind. Your name is engraved, written like a tattoo, on His hand. Your hand is a body part that is always seen, it’s usually in the field of vision. Like a nursing baby is often kept in sight because they could easily hurt themselves, He keeps constant watch over you. Nothing happens to you that He doesn’t know about. He said, even if there are instances where a mother can forget her baby, He will never, ever forget you! As you mature, He will train you and discipline you. He will teach you His ways and guide you. You may not always understand the circumstances you’re facing, but you can be confident that He will never leave you, never forsake you. He is your Daddy- God and He loves you dearly.
“It may be hard to think that You can love me so unconditionally. How wonderful to feel that love being poured out to me! To be assured that You are always with me, that You will never leave me, gives me confidence. Help me to always be mindful of You, to be sensitive to Your leanings and leadings, to Your voice and Your heart so that I may be a blessing to You and to those around me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
