The Brevity of Life

Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.”

Even if you live to be 120 years old, what is that compared to quadrillions and quintillions of years and all of eternity? Life on earth as we know it is just a breath; you’re here one day and gone the next. Every day counts. Every hour counts. Every moment matters. But with all the distractions we face, it’s easy to forget. It doesn’t mean we can’t have fun, but it’s important that we live INTENTIONALLY. We live with the consciousness of a Person, of Whose we are. It’s important that we live with the sense of a purpose and of an assignment and of promises in the forefront of your mind. When you live intentionally, you live consciously keeping yourself connected to God. You live trusting His wisdom and His goodness, most especially when the circumstances around you don’t make sense. You live knowing that you are His and that He loves you dearly.

“Teach me to number my days, to be conscious of You always with me. Teach me to live intentionally, that I was born to live Your plan for me. Help me to always remember that even in the midst of the busyness of life, that I am living towards a destiny that You planned for me long before I was born, so that my days count. Help me be watchful of my thoughts, my words and my actions, that in all things You are glorified. In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.”
