Psalm 56:8 “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”
Did you know that every time you were hurt or sorrowful or mourned the loss of something or someone, every time you cried your tears were collected in a bottle in heaven? When you were wrongfully accused, taken advantaged of, bullied, harassed or abused, they were recorded in a book together with your tears? God was watching you, pained with your pain, and also watching to see what you would do? He wants to minister to the wound and the hurt so that you don’t stay in the negative emotion and state of mind because He sees the poison it is to your soul. He wants you to surrender the anger and offense before it overwhelms you and clouds your vision. People will do you wrong, intentionally or not. The question is: what will you do about it? Will you let it destroy you or will you allow God to turn it around and use it to bring out the better you? Where will you place your focus – on the hurt or the goodness and love of your Abba? Let His love fill you. Let His kindness minister to you. Let His peace envelope you. Let His joy overwhelm you. It may be difficult at first, just start with a decision and trust His grace to do what you cannot on your own. Then watch Him turn it around for your good! Because He is good!
“Abba, I cannot do this on my own, but by Your grace, I surrender all the hurt and anger and offense. I don’t want my vision to be clouded or short-sighted. I want to see Your goodness manifest in my life, in the situations I face. I want to see Your glory revealed in what the enemy planned as a trap or stumbling block because You are bigger. I surrender to Your will, to Your plan for me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
