The Father of Lies

Genesis 3:1 “The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, ‘Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?'”

The serpent hasn’t changed his strategy toward man since the time in the Garden. Because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross, the only power he has left over God’s people is when we believe his lies. He is called the “father of lies” because that is what he does, he deceives.
God gave an instruction to Adam, ” You may eat from any tree in the garden, except from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” Later on, the serpent approaches Eve and asks “Did God really say…?” He twisted God’s word and then made her doubt what He said.
When you get a word from God, the enemy still tries to make you doubt if you really heard it and the integrity of God. So he works to steal it from you so that the promise you received will not manifest in your life. Our work is to believe what God said. He said – when you are in Christ, you are a new creation. He has forgiven you of all your sins! There is no condemnation for you! You are an overcomer! You are blessed! Nothing can separate you from His love! He will never leave you, never forsake you! – These are just some of His promises to you. Don’t believe the lies that the devil tries to make you believe that are contrary to what God has already told you! When you believe a lie, you give it power over you. God’s Word must be the final word in your life. His Word is what matters!

“Abba, I choose to believe Your Word over any lie. You already paid such a steep price to prove how much You love me! You made plans for my life, to use me for Your glory and to bless me. By Your grace, help me to continue to believe all the other promises You have given. By Your power, bring them to fruition that my destiny may be accomplished and Jesus glorified in my life. In Jesus’ Name, amen!”
