Faith is activated by hearing the word of God

Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”

Faith is the conviction of truth, when you know in your heart that a specific word from God aren’t just words you read in a book but are real to you; nothing can shake you from the conviction of it. So now you are facing a situation and you need a promise from God that you can stand on, to hold onto until you get through it, how can you have the faith for it? It says faith comes by hearing… it doesn’t stop there. It says hearing BY the Word of God. What does that mean? It means that you must hear the Word spoken to you by God. The Word must be made alive to You by His breath on it. He is the One Who will open your eyes and ears to His voice. How does that even begin? It starts with the thoughts you allow yourself to think as you wait to hear Him. Dwell on the thoughts that He loves you, that your sins are forgiven, that you stand before Him in the righteousness of Christ, that He hears you when you pray, and when you ask Him He wants to answer you. These are important thoughts that must fill your heart and mind. And when you believe them, He will give breath to the promise you need. And as you ponder on the words He speaks to you, faith will rise and nothing and no one will be able to take them away from you!
“Abba, You know all things. No matter what I may be going through, Your Holy Spirit is working in my life so that Jesus is Who will be seen in me, His character formed in me. Open my eyes and ears to hear Your voice clearly so that like Jesus, I will only do what I see my Father doing. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
