Psalm 8:4 “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?”
David, the one who wrote the psalm couldn’t understand why man filled God’s mind. Why was man so important that He would even bother to go down to earth and have a relationship with him?
Maybe it’s time we look at ourselves the way the One Who created us looks at us: His creation He thought worth dying for. The value of a thing is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it. And God thought you were worth the price of His own Son’s blood! He loves you so much He paid a steep price to get you back! Don’t de-value yourself. Stop putting yourself down. The Almighty God says you were worth suffering for! In spite of all your weaknesses and failures, He loves you and thinks you are valuable.
“Abba, I need to look at others and myself the way You see us: people of value. Open my eyes that I may see everyone around me the way You do; that I may love myself the way You do. Thank You that You gave me value and dignity by showing me how much You love me when You gave me Jesus. Amen.”
