Exodus 6:5 “And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage and I have remembered My covenant.”
Sometimes we think that when we pray to God we need to say so many words and sound so profound so that He will listen and answer us. But there are times when facing a difficult situation or heavy burden, we run out of words. We don’t even know what to say. In this verse, the Bible says that the people groaned. They didn’t even say a single word. They certainly weren’t in faith. But God heard them, and more importantly, He responded. That’s the loving Abba we have! He hears your groans. He collects your tears. He is touched when He sees you suffer. He listens to the cries of your heart. And He answers.
“Abba, You know the situations I face. Thank You that even though I may run out of words to express what’s in my heart, You understand. Thank You for loving me and listening to me. And most of all, thank You for Jesus, Who put me in right standing with You. My life is in Christ. Amen.”
