Jesus Wept

John 11:35 “Jesus wept.”

Lazarus had already been dead for 4 days when Jesus came to Mary and Martha. He knew the Father’s plan for the delay and why He was sent – Lazarus was going to be raised from the dead when his body was already decayed and decomposing! When Jesus got there, Mary and Martha were so overcome with grief and hopelessness because of how long their brother was dead. Even though Jesus knew what was going to happen, He felt the pain they felt. He identified with those He loved. He was showing us that even though He is God, He isn’t so far removed from us that He doesn’t know what we feel. He KNOWS pain and sorrow and loss and rejection. That’s why He is the perfect One to stand as Mediator between the Father and humanity! Whatever situation you may be facing, bring them before Him. He wants to help you. He wants to save you. Because He loves you!
“Thank You Abba, that You gave Your Son to be my Mediator and Savior. Through Your Son, You show me how much You love me and how precious I am to You, in spite of all my flaws and failures. Continue to change me so that my life brings You glory, in Jesus’ Name, amen.”
