The Joy Of The Lord Is Your Strength

Nehemiah 8:10 “He also told them, “Go eat the best food, drink the best wine, and give something to those who have nothing, since this day is holy to our Lord. Don’t be sorrowful, because the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

This book was written about a time when the Jews wanted to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem after being in captivity for so long. They gathered again as God’s holy people and wanted to celebrate rediscovering their identity as His people. There was much to be grateful for. And they were reminded of a reason to celebrate. They’re God’s chosen people! So are you! Because You belong to Him, He is the One Who takes care of you and all the things that concern you. Knowing that you can bring such great joy to His heart because you’re His child is a thought that gives you the strength to move forward in spite of the odds. Your capacity to understand the delight of the Lord over you is what gives you strength. Look at yourself through His eyes and see how much He loves you dearly.

“Help me to guard the thoughts that I think so that what I choose to meditate on will always be thoughts in line with Your Word, that my heart will be filled with Your joy. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
